I love my Furi knives but the sharpening system is the best I have ever sued and I have a few, anyone else use these items

Right now I'm using Calphalon knives, and keeping them sharp with the Chef's Choice electric sharpener, a pretty good machine. I like the knoves, just added the 6 inch Chef's. My favorite out of the bunch is the 8 inch Santoku for the bigger jobs, the 5 inch Santoku for the smaller stuff. My brother has a set of Cutco's that I'm eyeing next. And they send someone out when it needs sharpening.

I haven't used a Furi knife. I did get a 6" utility Shun Kaji knife from my lovely wife for Christmas. This is one fine knife. I can't afford any others, unless I sell my house, but I love the one I got.

I have a 13 piece Cutco set. I use maybe 2 of them. The small 2.5" one and the bigdog 8" one. I have had them for over 5 years and never had a problem with them. They are nothing fancy just work horses. Never been sharperned (probably should be) and they will still cut a digit off:eek: it you are not careful. I have other 'cheap' sets, but I always reach for the Cutco. The scissors are great and yes they will cut a penny in half.

Okay, they'll cut a penny, but how are they on that cake?

I have a cheap set and a Cutco set. The bread knife is great for cutting brisket.
They also have an excellent sharpening system - call up the rep and they come over and sharpen them for no charge ...

We have some Cutco too, it is pretty good in fact a couple pieces are over 25 years old and still decent. On their best day they will not cut like my Furi's do though. I got the scars to prove it.

Scars are manly. Who needs a knife fight when we can get all the scars we need in the kitchen?

I got a pair of Cutco shears for my birthday. Really nice. Makes me want to get the knives. Now I'm looking for stuff to cut all the time!
